GENERAL INFORMATION
The College of Dentistry of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) offers advanced dental education programs in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Periodontology, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Orthodontics. These programs prepare dentists for specialty practice and satisfy the educational requirements of the respective specialty boards. certificates of proficiency are awarded following completion of the program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Pediatric Dentistry. The Master of Dental Science Degree is awarded at the completion of the requirements of the Orthodontics, Periodontics and Prosthodontic Graduate Programs; a course of study leading to Master of Dental Science Degree can be arranged in the Pediatric Dentistry Program. The Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center is a component of the cluster of programs operated by the Lutheran Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. Other programs, including postdoctoral fellowships and other special course work for non-degree and non-certificate students may be provided in special circumstances.
