Microsoft Agreement
UT has procured a Microsoft Campus Enterprise Agreement for Microsoft Office 2007 for Windows, Office 2008 for Macintosh, and Windows Vista/XP operating systems. The University will distribute these products for use by faculty and staff on University owned computers at no charge to departments. See details below:
Licensing Options
The Microsoft Office products have three licensing options:
- The product can be installed on all University computers at no charge to departments via the OIT software download site.
- The Campus Enterprise Agreement also gives UT Faculty and Staff the ability to purchase a personal At Home Use copy directly from a Microsoft Website. The cost for the full Microsoft Office 2007 package or Office 2008 for the Macintosh is $9.95 to download. For an additional $12.00 you can also purchase a backup disc which will be be mailed to the purchaser. The price includes shipping and handling.
- There is also a Work At Home license available for Faculty and Staff. Microsoft's license agreement states that the product can be used on a personally owned computer but for UT work purposes only. This product will be available from the ITS Helpdesk via CD or DVD.
Vista
The Vista Enterprise operating system is available from ITS via DVD, at the UTHSC Helpdesk. To obtain a copy of Vista Ultimate, contact Betsy Lillie at elillie@utk.edu. There is a $5.00 Priority Mail fee for shipping this product.
Distribution
Microsoft Office 2007 can be downloaded from the OIT Software Download page. Your UTHSC netid and password will be required to login.
A CD or DVD will be made available for departments that have a need to install Office 2007 on computers in offices off-campus where downloading is not feasible. You can pick up your CD/DVD from helpdesk office located in room 726 of the Lamar Alexander building.
The Home Use Product is available from a Microsoft Website. To receive instructions on how to order Microsoft 2007 or 2008 for Macintosh go to the OIT Software Download page.
Microsoft Office with the Work at Home license will be distributed via CD or DVD. Contact the Helpdesk at 448-2222, or come to the Helpdesk office located in room 726 of the Lamar Alexander building.
